Working with Layers
Your design idea may require applying different effects to different parts of text. Since effects can change only the whole text, you have to put pieces of text onto separate layers to modify them in different ways.
The program can help you create multiple layers out of a single text preserving the position of the letters. Each letter will be placed on a separate layer. To use this feature, select Layers > Split into Letters in the menu.
Note that you cannot merge the resulting layers back to create one text layer (except using the Edit > Undo command). To join letters into a single object, you can use the Layers > Union command, but the created object will be not text but an image.
