It’s Fun, Free, and Fabulous--and Addictive . . .
I’m addicted because the ease of use for such inspiring results makes it fun to work
with any images and colors!

One click in the list, then push around in the image. You won’t believe how much
variety you can get. And fast.
Like something? Just save it with its unique name and go right on playing with the image.
If that’s not enough, add or tweak more effects with the current sliders below the
effects list.
What do I do with it? So far, as you can see in the M.A.C.S. December newsletter, I’ve
used it to capture a set of colors, had great fun with photos, used the color-set to make small divider lines
(“rules”).
I couldn’t stop there, so went ahead and played with the many color Effects, shapes, and
used the Generators list to create some abstract things.
This program is in my ‘must-have’ program kit for the newsletter. . .because of
what it produces, and because it gives me the great pleasure and inspiration of surprises.

This app is basically a new front end to the Core Image effects, along with a set of mathematical
image generators you can use to create a new picture from scratch. Usage is simple -- load a picture you wish to
modify, choose an effect (a Filter in Image Tricks), and apply it. Layer effects by repeating the process. There
are even a number of masks you can apply to make interesting frames around your images. When you're done, you can
save your image or copy it to the clipboard.
You can also build images from scratch, using the Generators tab. Generators marked with
"PRO", have additional settings, that are available only in the Pro (paid) version of Image Tricks.
With a generated image, click Render then Edit, and you can then apply Filters to the created image--a good way to
see the power of Tiger’s Core Image effects.
Here are a few examples of what this interesting program can do...
